Strike Gently Away 2

After the first part in a vacant store in Salzburg, The Real Office shows the exhibition STRIKE GENTLY AWAY 2 in the test phase of the project space of the Kunstverein Wagenhalle. The title is borrowed from the warning on matchboxes "Strike gently away from body". The exhibition transfers the gentle striking to gender and body norms, to national identities, to rigid historiography, origin, and statehood. As a matter of fact or even as a conscious focusing the concepts are carefully stroke off in an artistic way. Their construction within society as well as the subjective perception of belonging and identification with these are examined. Without a uniform narrative, the exhibition explores their own narratives in different artistic positions and media.
